Hello
Please feel free to contact me if you are thinking about a career in medicine and have questions about getting into university, gaining experience, university life or life as a junior doctor. I'm happy also to talk about my experience going through medical school as a post graduate and how this has influenced my foundation years and speciality training as a GP trainee.
My Story
I attended University of Liverpool where I studeid Chemistry and following this went straight into studying medicine at Queens University Belfast. Having completed medical school I started my foundation training in Severn deanery working at Southmead in Covid. In F1 I worked in Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Vascular surgery and Psychiatry. My F2 was completed in Weston general working in Acute medicine, General surgery and Emergency Medicine. I then locumed for a year at Weston hospital and started a diploma in Sports medicine at University of Bath.
I completed my Sports Medicine diploma the following year and started GP training in Gloucestershire which I continue to train in currently.
During medical school and foundation training I completed 2x Ironman triathlons and so am happy to discuss combining heavy work loads with external hobbies and how it can be managed.
I'm very keen to pass information that most people do not learn about on work experience or even during medical school about salary, annual leave, time out of training, exams and rota's so that you aren't surprised by anything once comitted.
